May Blessings

Oh the month of May. What once brought me so much joy, is now overshadowed by even more joy! The month of May was once set aside for my birthday however, now that I am a Momma, the number one excitement for May is now MOTHERS DAY! I have an overwhelming amount of guilt that I have neglected to write ANY post what so ever about both...my day of birth and most of all Momma's day!! I had a story book kind of day on May 11th! Woke up to one happy baby boy, went to church, had lunch with my Mom, Daniel's Mom, and my Grandma, relaxed at home with my lovies, and then ended the night having dinner with my little family at home and heading to bed! It was wonderful! My hubs put so much thought into my first Momma's day by sending me flowers to work the Friday before and surprising me with two new charms in my necklace!

As for my birthday I celebrated more than once! The night before we went to Greenwood and did a little shopping then met my Mom for dinner at Texas Roadhouse. Sunday the 18th we went to church, had lunch at my mother in laws and then had dinner with m Dad:) It was also wonderful! I am so blessed to have so many amazing people in my family!

My new charms! Blog. MOM. LOVE THEM!

My beautiful flowers from Sawyer and also my Dad!

BIG fat bully

I may be jumping off a limb here but I just can't stay quiet any longer! I attempt to stay clear of "ranting" post like this on my blog but something has been weighing on my mind a lot lately and has recently come up with a few of my fellow Momma's! So here I go...I am sick and tired of grown ass men and women claiming to be bullied or playing the victim in everyday LIFE situations! Now I will attempt to plead my case in detail for everyone to fully understand what I mean here.

As a child I was taught to stand up for myself, I was also taught that when someone does something to directly hurt me or anger me in any way I was to stand up for myself. Not one time did my parents say Ashley, if someone at school isn't being very nice you go to the corner and cry about it and then when you get home be sure and tell us that you were bullied! No! They told me to stick up for myself and not let anyone tell me I wasn't worth just as much as the next person! So I ask myself, WHY!? WHY as a society have we became so worried about sheltering our children from being bullied? Having someone disagree or try and hold you back from something is all part of life!! What happens when these children who have been taught that it is ok to play the victim, get out in the real world where quit frankly no one really gives a sh*t if something makes you "sad" or if you "feel" like you are being bullied? Part of life is finding yourself in this big mean world! And mean is just what it is! If kids don't learn how to stand on their own two feet, they will crumble at the face of life. I know in many unfortunate situations today that kids are made fun of and bullied every single day! And don't get me wrong, that breaks my heart however, I can only hope that parents use this as a stepping stone to teach these children that life isn't always perfect or fun and people are mean! Yes I know the first time my son comes home and tells me that someone was mean or did something to him, I will want to beat the daylight right out of whoever looked at him crossways and then call the parent and go all white trash however, I hope to refrain from letting him feel sorry for himself and in return teach him how to cope with the situation and stand up for himself!

As children grow and get older in life the only life's lessons they know are those they have learned as a child therefore, leaving them to face the world with just that. If parents have "cushioned" the fall every time someone knocked them down in life, they will never be able to get up once living life on their own. In everyday life I personally come across people who play the victim, the victim of everyday struggles. These people are constantly looking for someone to say "I'm sorry" or "oh no your great at this or that" or what about those looking for the "oh no your not ugly" after bashing themselves just so you will pay a compliment! I can't stand it!! Your an adult! Stop trying to be a victim! And no, no one is "bulling" you when they simply give you their personal opion, because it's just that...AN OPINON! And guess what sugarplum everyone has one, so get used to it! These are the people that as children were "cushioned" through life! And now struggle in the reality of how people really are!

I apologize for the rant I really do but, this is simply how I feel! And guess what...I am sure there will be those who disagree however, that's your opion and your entitled to it! That is the beautiful thing about America, we don't have to agree! 😊 Enjoy your day friends!!
