Are we missing the big picture??

It has been four exciting months since I have entered the crazy world of motherhood and in those four months I have learned a tremendous amount about myself and also my husband, from just how much sleep can I lack to how much I can get done while nursing a baby at the same time! Sure things aren't always easy but like everyone else...we manage! I have recently been tossing around the idea that perhaps we as a society are missing the big picture in our children's lives, by that I mean are we too caught up in how certain books, magazines, or that "mom of the year" (we all know) are telling us the best ways to raise our children?! I must admit, I am beyond guilty of wanting to be "by the books" in an effort to be the best mom that I can be however, I am constantly questioning whether certain things are the "right" fit for our family! One thing in particular that jumps out at me is rocking a baby to sleep, granted I only have one child but I find, for our family it works well for me to be holding my little stink butt as he drifts off to dreamy land in my arms😍 Now every piece of material that I have ever read has stressed the idea that babies need to be laid in their beds and fall asleep on their own. The "self soothe" method is always ringing in my ear every time I am snuggling my little guy and with that I am recently thinking ...if he is to "self soothe" every time he falls asleep or plays during the day where exactly is the part where I am suppose to be mothering this child?? Obviously I could go on and on with different ideas that conflict with how I prefer to do things, as I am sure you all could too however,  in a effort to wrap it up...I wont😉

So here is my conclusion! There is not a book or magazine in the world that can tell us the perfect way to raise these little jewels! The motherly instinct that defines a Mommy from the time we look that beautiful baby in the eyes and realize that life as we know it is changing right before us is what will tell us what is the "right" fit of parenting for each of us. I am by all means not saying that I will not continue to read articles and different material that will add to my knowledge of parenting however, for our little family I am going to continue to try and not "miss the big picture" while watching my sweet boy grow!

Xoxo- Just another wannabe good Mommy😘💨

My hot date!

Well it finally happened! My husband and I decided to leave the boy and have a Mommy and Daddy dinner and movie night! It's funny the anticipation one can feel before going on a date with the their own husband! I had the hardest time figuring out what to wear and how I was going to fix my hair! I have to admit I am overly guilty for the messy hair and sweatpants look whenever possible! Although I am sure my hubby loves me no matter what it is I'm wearing, it is still occasionally nice to put worth a little effort (or at least a shower!) into myself just for him!💄💋 We had such a wonderful time! We started our night out a Johnny Carino's and then hit up the AMC Theater in Columbus and watched lone survivor which was pretty good! All in all it was another great night with the love of my life! Things have definitely changed over the years, topics of discussion at the dinner table, time spent out, anticipation of coming back home to see our little sweet pea, and most certainly my anxiety on driving with bad road conditions! But one things still the same, those sparks that started flying 7 years ago are still burning strong and our love for one another is continually growing! God has and continues to bless our marriage!❤ We are forever thankful!

Birthday Blessings

On this day 6 years ago God blessed us with a beautiful, spunky, and sweet little niece! At the time Daniel and I were not married and had been dating for a little over a year, although I was technically not her Auntie just yet I was beyond excited for her arrival! I think everyone can agree that the first born baby of the family forever holds a special place in everyone's heart!😍 Miss Bailey was the beginning of all the Bohall boys babies! It's hard to believe we now have four babies! Tonight we celebrated the big 6 with the entire family at my sister in laws parents house while being peaceful and groovy😉(she had a peace sign theme😁) I am hoping she enjoys her puffy paint, which I was THRILLED to find that Walmart has brought it back! I have said before and I'll say it now, all these baby's growing up is such a bittersweet feeling. While I love watching them grow and become wonderful little humans, I also hate to see time pass so quickly😥 Happy Birthday Bailey Don!!! You continue to bring us joy daily! We love you so much!!❤ God has surely blessed our family!

Snow Day!

Well looks like after two snow days and staying in our warm house, it is finally back to the grind tomorrow for this Momma! I have heard over and over people are tired of being cooped up in the house and are ready to get out and go somewhere, I on the other hand would be perfectly content with sitting at home the rest of the week watching NCIS and Criminal Minds while sipping hot chocolate and cuddling my boy!

Our snow days consisted of this
+ a little of this
And did I mention this?
So yea I could stay home the rest of the week and be perfectly fine😉

Today was Sawyer's 3 month check up, so I did have to leave for a short time this afternoon but boy was I glad to get back home! WAY too cold for my liking!!
What did everyone else do with their days of below 0 temps??

Love Is In The Air...😍

There are lots of projects taking place here at the Bohall's! I still took time for a few V-day crafts! Here is a peek of the Valentines projects so far!

I made this LOVE banner out of burlap and used mini clips to attach it to a hemp rope. The Be Mine sign is made out of an old picture frame and a candlestick, inside I put a piece of burlap and traced the letters and heart with a sharpie:)

I will always love my old window I made into a chalk board! I also added a felt garland that I made out of felt hearts. I strug these together with crochet thread. I'm in LOVE with felt garland!!

I am still thinking my chalkboard may need a little something something! What do you think??

Blessing to you!!

Boob baby or broken arm?

You've heard the phrase "insert foot into mouth" right? Well my guess would be that the gentleman I encountered today was more than likely thinking this by the time he got back to his truck. First off for those of you who do not know, I am fortunate enough to take my sweet Sawyer to work with me everyday and being that he is a breastfed baby, I also nurse him at my desk when he is hungry.(not always an easy task talking on the phone, typing on the computer, and doing this while having the "girls" out and a baby attached getting his belly full. But hey it's worth every chaotic moment to be able to feed that boy and have him with me everyday!)  So it goes like this...there we were, having our 2 o'clock feeding when in walked the hardware store man with a delivery (nothing new for people to be in and out dropping things by and what have you) as he sits the grinding wheel down on the edge of my desk he looks at me and says "what did you do?" With a puzzled look I reply, "what do you mean?" He says "did you break your arm?" After pondering for a mere 2 seconds I then realized what it was that he was referring to and replied with "no sir, I am only feeding my baby"! Frantic for words he said "I had no idea" and I replied "Good! That's what I was going for!" 😊Pretty sure it took every ounce of self control I had at that given moment to not burst into laughter...no sooner than he turned and walked out the door, I of course was dying in laughter and had only wished someone else would have been there to witness the event!! Oh the laundry list of Mom probs!

So what do you think? Broken arm or small child eating lunch? To each their own my friends😌

God Bless! ❤

A Year In Review

Happy New Year!!! Like everyone else, I too have been reflecting on the past year and everything that went into it. 2013 was by far the greatest year I have experienced in my 23 years of life! The beginning brought us the news of our precious baby boy, and the end wrapped it up with Sawyer's birth and having him for the holidays! God truly blessed us! I look forward to seeing what plans he holds for us in 2014!! Here are a few of our highlights from 2013!

Daniel started racing again! After a 5 years off the track! This was one hot summer for his very prego wife!
We wrapped up the summer with the birth of our pride and joy!
