Monday Madness

Typically my blogs have to do with recent DIY's or things that way heavy on my mind so on and so forth, today however, I have other news! Today was a big day at the office! My sister Alissa completed her first day working at Showbound Express! In addition to working her first day, she also got a large dose of birth control!! Not only did she get a full dose but we all did! My little Sawyer was in rare form today and decided to be a hand full all day long! At this point I am wondering why I am blogging and not sleeping! But...I felt the need to express how proud I am of my little sis coming to join in the family fun!;) It was wonderful getting to go to lunch with her also! With the exception of my CrAzY Sawyer Lane acting like a wild man, we had a great day! I can't wait until Wednesday to see her again!

Have a blessed night!!

Bathrooms--Before+After

The moment we have all been waiting for! The before and after of the bathroom renovation!! I can hardly hide my excitement! Our full bath has been the last room on the list to need renovated, now that it is complete we have our main floor living area COMPLETELY done! YAY!!! It only took 1 1/2 years Haha! The basement and outside of house will follow, but lets not get ahead of ourselves! So here it is...

The lovely before
(when we bought the house)
of the main bath...

While at my little brother Brady's basketball game, I got this picture...Scary!! He had the bathroom down to the studs before I even got home! He had the tub/shower combo installed by the end of the night! Thank goodness!!

What a hot mess renovating the only full bath we have with a busy schedule and a 5 month old! But as you can see Bub loved his new bath!

We decided to reuse the old vanity that was in perfect condition and just paint, add different hardware, and a new vanity top!
*I used Annie Sloan chalk paint in Paris Grey*

LOVE the new lighting that we got from Lowe's!

Almost there...we decided to do a wainscoting around the bathroom walls in white and a charcoal grey color on the top half.
 *Behr paint in Trail Print*

We purchased the vinyl flooring from our local Carpet Gallery...At first I wasn't sure if it would look good but it looks great for being vinyl I think, I am very happy with it now that it is laid!

A new faucet will spruce up any bath!

After countless hours and a few babysitters we have the bathroom complete! We are extremely happy with the turn out! Now on to find the perfect shower curtain!
I'm thinking BOLD! We shall see...

1/2 Bath Renovation that was completed last year! Much less work was done here...paint, sink, and a little drywall work is all it took!

Before..

After...

Daniel and I agree on one thing for sure...its time for a break around here! LOL

The Bohall Command Center:)

Have I mentioned I have the BESTEST Husband in the world? Well I do! I get the vision and he makes it a reality. Anything I dream up he does his best to put into play!

For example...

While laying in bed one night I got the bright idea that one day when we have two babies and I have to lose my office space since we only have three bedrooms that I would add to our existing counter/cabinets in the kitchen to create a small command center! At the time I was unsure what we would use to create this space but I thought when the time came we would figure it out! Well another night laying in bed and yet again another bright idea came into my head, I recalled that when we purchased our countertops the gentleman that dropped them off had left a small extra piece for unknown reasons! I had stuck the small piece in the basement and forgot all about it....until now that is! When I brought the small piece of counter top  upstairs and heard the magic words from my hubs "yes that will work" it was like hearing angels singing from heaven! And yes I will over exaggerate the "angels singing from heaven" simply because I am ALWAYS asking can we do this or that or what about this, now 9 times out of 10 my hubs gives me the yes however, occasionally I will get the..."that will never work" to which I argue my idea/point until he breaks down and VISUALLY shows me why it will not work! That is usually followed by me pouting and running off for a while to collect my thoughts that I just knew for sure were the key to our success and happiness. Wouldn't you love to remodel or redo a house with me??! Yes I know I feel sorry for him too sometimes! It sure takes special man to handle all this but he does a fine job!

There you have it our most recent DIY...the Bohall Command Center!
Where all bills are paid and Etsy purchases made!

PS-Yes we are still knee deep in our bathroom remodel! Just the finishing touches and I will have the blog up with before and after pictures! Eeek I can not wait!! I am LOVING the way its turning out!! Can't wait to share with you all!!

XOXO- Commander Mommy;)

Plywood Floor DIY

Ok friends the projects around here just keep coming the more we do around this house so... I have decided to make a few post about the DYI projects that we have done so far since we moved in:)

Daniel and I knew from the time we purchased our house that we definitely wanted wood floors however, after looking for the "perfect" flooring that fit our needs as well as our budget it didn't take long to realize we weren't so interested in spending $20,000+ on flooring throughout our home!!

I started thinking of alternate options for flooring  that would give us the rustic farmhouse floor look and came up with a fabulous plan to cut wood into planks and lay them down like regular wood flooring, it wasn't long after doing a little research to realize that maybe I wasn't a genus like I had thought I was for coming up with that idea because as it turns out there were several other people who had done wood flooring in a similar concept! After coming down off my high horse, I pitched the idea to Daniel and together we starting planning!

1.  We first cut the plywood into planks. We decided to go
with 3/4 inch plywood that we purchased at our local Home Depot.

2. We laid the flooring using liquid nail and ring shank nails.
Note: We sanded areas that were uneven.

3. Stained the flooring using a sponge brush and wiping off with a rag once desired color was reached. We choose a Dark Walnut stain made by Minwax.

4. Applied two thick coats of polyurethane.
We choose a water based semi gloss polyurethane made by Minwax.
Note: Be sure area is well ventilated! I was pregnant when we put the polyurethane on our floor and we have to leave for the night:)

The finished project...

We couldn't be happier with the turn out!

Shopped Till We Dropped!

It was a wonderful Tuesday off work for Sawyer and I, we headed South for the day with my Mom aka Nene! We had a mission to find her a specific something however, ended up with some ADORABLE things for our sweet Sawyer of course! This shopping day also opened the opportunity for Sawyer to wear he cute new outfit that I showed in my blog from the Mommy/Daddy date night! Shopping with my Momma never gets old nor is there EVER a dull moment!! Whether we are laughing at each other or trying to jump curbs in Nene's sports car as I like to call it, we are always having a wonderful time!

Here are a few snaps from our day!

Of course we had to take advantage of the photo booth!!

Bubs 1st sitting in the cart while strolling around in TJ Maxx!

I hope you all had a BLESSED Tuesday!!

One Of The Greatest Men I Never Knew

For nearly 24 years I have grown to know a man I have never met. Countless stories told and memories that I never tire from hearing, from his childhood to meeting the love of his life and on to being a daddy to three people that hold an extra special place in my heart. The hurts that continues to lie just a few tears deep in the ones I love, make me realize just how special he really was. I often sit and wonder just how life would be if he were still here today, would he love me the way everyone says he would? Would he have taken me places when I was a little girl in the semi? Would he drive a Peterbilt like my Dad and Uncle Mark:)?What would he think of Sawyer? (I am sure he would love him to pieces!) Or simply what would he think of me? From the time I was a little girl I painted the imagine in my mind of how I think he would be, from the soft tones in his voice to the smile he would give me when I walked in to see him. It is often as if I have known him my whole life. My Grandpa Bobby was one very special person that touched the lives of so many people and although I was not able to meet him myself, he legacy lives on!

God Bless You All! Although people may leave this world, their memories will last in the hearts of those who loved them forever! To be passed on and cherished in those they've never met.
